crosoft Exchange 2007 Server – Getting 5.7.1 Error when emailing to Distribution Group
Print false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE Hello, Our organization has recently migrated from Microsoft Exchange 2003 Server to Microsoft Exchange 2007 Server. We still have the Microsoft Exchange 2003 Server connected, however, for routing purposes. The problem is that when people directly email distribution groups people get the following message: This is an automatically generated Delivery Status Notification. Delivery to the following recipients failed. (Distribution Email Address) Final-Recipient: rfc822;(Distribution Email Address) Action: failed Status: 5.7.1 X-Display-Name: (Alias) Any idea as to why this is happening and what I may need to do to remedy the situation? Thank you for your time. Regards, Chris K.

Have you checked in the EMC to see how the Distribution Groups are configured? Were those converted to Exchange 2007 as well? Are these internal users or external users? You may need to enable the distribution group to accept email from unauthorized users.Have you seen this link? Found the solution on that page (unchecking the requirement for authenticated users as you suggested.)Thanks so much.Regards,Chris K.
